Nelson Gives Back
“Serving others” is an ideal that we esteem at Thomas Nelson, Inc. It is considered a foundational value of our corporate ideology and one of the things that makes us unique as a company. Serving others is at the heart of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as we continuously review ways to impact our community and our industry. As the President and CEO of Thomas Nelson, Mark Schoenwald, says, “If we want to inspire others, first we have to be inspired."
“Nelson Gives Back” is our corporate initiative to find inspiration in the services we provide to others, so that we may be inspirational in their lives. Through community volunteering and charitable donations, Thomas Nelson is committed to helping those who are in need.
In addition, we are constantly reviewing our environmental impact and how we can conduct better business practices in such a way that can help protect our Earth. Currently, all paper mills from which Thomas Nelson purchases resources are FSC and SFI certified, meaning the paper has followed stringent guidelines to preserve forests and reduce air and water pollution. By simply switching to a lighter weight paper, Thomas Nelson has reduced its paper usage by 27%.
